So, here we outline some restaurant marketing ideas and strategies that will help you come up with a restaurant marketing plan that will lead to a higher chance of success. Marketing Tips for Restaurant

Stand on the Shoulders of Giants

What to do when you cannot see a way beyond what is in front of your eyes. You stand on something higher. This is what you need to do. One of the simplest ways to market your restaurant is to list your restaurant in Yelp or Zomato. These platforms with more than a million visitors every month have the potential to scale your restaurant name. The core idea is to grab the attention of your audience where they are already present. Platforms like Yelp and Zomato will help you to reach your target audience faster.

Learn the Essentials of SEO

Do you know that the keyword ‘restaurants near me’ gives 1,180,000 results on Google? This fact alone gives you the importance of learning a thing or two about SEO. Here are some tips which can increase the strength of your brand and make it rise high in the Google search result pages.
  • Homepage Title: Ensure that your title is complete. For example, on your homepage follow the following format, ‘Double D's Pizzeria - St. Louis, 13150.’
  • Google Business: List your business on Google Business. Adding your restaurant business to the Google directory will maximize your chances of getting recognized in the local directories of Google.
  • Match both addresses: You must ensure that the address on your website and the address that you’ve submitted on Google Maps are the same.
  • Dedicated pages for specific items: You’re running a restaurant business. The only way you can make a new customer trust you is to list every tiny detail of the product that you’re referring to. If there are customer experiences, you must share them. Your customer wants to know the description of specific items.
  • Connect with websites that serve the same target audience: If you have some brands which are located near your business, you can consider doing cross-promotion with those brands.
There are many things which you can do other than these tips. You can make a blog and publish items which are related to food. It would help if you justified the ROI of your brand by taking adequate steps to strengthen your SEO.

Don’t Ignore Feedback from Customers, Handle Them

It is said that 92% of customers check and read online reviews before purchasing anything. In restaurant marketing, feedback from customers should be your top priority. What are the customers talking about? The angry customers might not share everything because they are busy being angry. You, on the other hand, must listen to those customers and understand between the lines. When you listen to a problem, don’t just hear or note down that problem. They are looking for some solution, not just some sympathy. Listen to what is troubling them and solve their problem or give them the exact time when their issue will be resolved. The good thing or bad thing about restaurant marketing is that everything is on social media. There are Facebook groups dedicated to food reviews, and if the customers share their concerns, people listen to them. Keep your reputation clear.

Go for the Website

A website is a digital representation of your brand. People see your site and make the perception of your brand. A professional digital marketing company will help you develop a website that can help your restaurant reach more customers. A website will give you a boost to restaurant marketing. It can highlight your restaurant culture to your new customers. However, don’t just develop a site just because everyone is doing it. Develop a website to build trust in the eyes of customers. When customers see videos, testimonials, and professional product photos, it will be easy for customers to enjoy a luxurious, unique experience even before they visit your restaurant.

Cross-platform Mobile App Development Tools

7 Cross Platform Mobile App Development Tools Help You Grow Your Business

branex-logo Team Branex
For some people, mobile is a luxury. For others, mobile is a necessity. So, it is quite challenging for mobile app developers to create apps that work on multiple platforms. There are a lot of opportunities for new developers. The newest app code rests on the concept of writing code once and running it anywhere (WORA). The app developer writes code which can run on multiple platforms. The purpose of cross-platform mobile development tools is to save long hours of coding. The app developers can reuse the code and run it on iOS, Windows, and Android devices. With various mobile devices in organizations and startups that increase the productivity of employees, cross-platform mobile app development is not easy. A survey estimates that more than 60% of enterprises are now on cross-platform development. The annual growth is 38%, which reached $4.8 billion in 2017, and by 2018 it was around 20 million. If you’re a professional mobile app development agency, you might be using these tools. Ask your developers, and they’ll let you know more details about it. But if your mobile app developers are busy, here is a quick view of the top-notch cross-platform development tools that can help you create your favorite apps. As tooling, devs use the most common text editors or IDEs like VS Code and Atom. The package create-react-native-app and Expo allow you to get up and running fast and eliminate most of the setup work.

1. PhoneGap

The tool is mainly developed by Apache Cordova. An open-source tool consists of a debugger, a compiler, and testing tools. It’s just a myth that PhoneGap is used to build simple apps. In the past few years, there has been a wide range of plugins like Media Recorder Plugin, Image Capture plugin, and even Push plugin, which is quite popular among developers.

Pros

  • The code can easily be reused on the following platforms: Android, iOS, Windows, and Firefox OS.
  • All the processes are plugin-able, which means that the developers can easily use APIs to get their work done.
  • It supports in-store app purchases whether it is on the Google Play store or iOS.

Cons

The only issue is that the apps which are designed in PhoneGap are designed sensitively. However, with some third-party apps, this challenge can be overcome.

2. React Native

When React Native launched in the year 2015, it took everything by storm. The most amazing thing about React Native is that it allows writing code once, which can be used for both Android and iOS. Facebook, Airbnb, Uber Eats, and a couple of other famous mobile apps have used this development tool.

Pros

  • You can easily reload the code live without any delays.
  • The design is quite intuitive and modular. A plus point for developers who want a simple interface while developing apps.
  • It provides robust performance. This means the design can easily be operated on most mobile devices without causing any delays in the graphics.

Cons

The learning curve of React Native is quite high. It takes more time to initialize. The management of memory is difficult because float computations are dealt with inefficiently.

3. Xamarin

If you use a Xamarin tool, you can get help from the C# codebase and test the tool on multiple platforms. However, just like other frameworks, the developers can work with native IDEs, APIs, and languages. Moreover, Git integration is developed in Xamarin Studio.

xamarin-tool-for-mobile-app-development Pros

  • The best part of this tool is you can develop simple apps fleetly.
  • Around three-fourths of the code can easily be shared on various mobile platforms, which can cut down the development cost by half.
  • Xamarin comes with a quality testing and monitoring system on a wide range of devices.

Cons

The predominant compatibility issues with Android and iOS libraries are a bit of a concern for most app developers. This is the sole issue which developers need to address.

4. Sencha Ext JS

If you need data-intensive cross-platform mobile apps, then this tool is good news for you. This tool is a robust package of high-end, pre-tested, and ultra-modern UI components which can unleash the potential power of HTML5 and the latest browsers. To develop business intelligence (BI) cross-platform mobile apps, Sencha Ext JS is a perfect choice. Data visualization and analytics are supreme and can compute millions of records with ease.

Pros

  • Built-in easy-to-use themes for every popular platform.
  • The backend works separately regardless of various data sources.
  • The tool supports PhoneGap/Cordova integration to access native API.

Cons

  • The themes are few for some platforms.
  • The commercial version has complex licensing methods.

5. Adobe Build

A cloud-based tool that works seamlessly with PhoneGap and compiles code fast. The developers are faithful to this tool because the quality of deliverables is impressive. Mobile app developers are more willing to work on a cross-platform app development project instead of Android SDK, iOS SDK, or Windows Phone SDK. The only requirement is a little knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and Java.

Pros

  • Code reusability can help the developer wrap up projects with tight deadlines.
  • Punch in a few lines of JavaScript and get access to geolocation, contacts, and even a camera.
  • This tool is a blessing for medium-sized organizations and startups who are facing ruthless competition.
  • Manage your portfolio, get updates, and forget about the maintenance.

Cons

  • When compared to Swift, the data processing speed is sluggish.
  • The background processing of APIs is also at a glacial pace.
  • The native functionality is miserable. Most of the APIs don’t even support PhoneGap's APIs.

6. Convertigo

Convertigo markets itself as a mobile backend service (MBaaS) which offers products like Convertigo Mobilizer, Convertigo Server, and every product is there to aid the developers in building better products.

Pros

  • The fullsync feature offers data replication, which can help developers build apps even in offline mode.
  • Provides ease to connect with SQL databases and other primary services.
  • Supports all the Cordova plugins which are used to develop primary features like sensors, cameras, and GPS.
  • The push notifications work even in standby mode.

Cons

The free version of the product doesn’t include community support, which is kind of sad.

7. NativeScript

This open-source, cross-platform app development tool can help developers to build native UI with ease. The developers can easily access the native API and reuse the packages from Gradle, NPM, or CocoaPods. This is why the apps built with this tool are feature-rich.

Pros

  • The support is extended to TypeScript & Angular.js
  • It enables you to use the JavaScript library offline.
  • The cross-platform UI support gives the ability to design once and use it on various other platforms.

Cons

  • A lack of in-depth examples and documentation.
  • Multi-threading is an alarming issue.

Over to You

It is important to mention that the numbering in the post doesn’t reflect the superiority or inferiority of the tool. Each tool has its pros and cons. The limitations of the tools make it easy to choose as per the requirements of the project. A professional cross-platform app development company can guide you toward the right path.

The spray known as ‘Flavor Radio’ squirted into the nostrils of more than 35,000 people. The effect: Sales went up 29%. A marketing strategy designed to influence the emotions of customers by making changes in the environment. With a physical store, you can enhance purchase probability by making little changes in your environment. Do you think your local café sells better Coffee than Starbucks? Maybe. But if all your senses are doing fine, you will realize how getting Coffee from Starbucks makes you feel. It is the feeling that makes all the difference. You can present many arguments to support the fact that one of the factors that persuades the customer to buy from you. But everything aside, the most genuine form of sales is when customers buy with their emotions. A lot has been written on how to increase online sales and boosting online sales is a tormenting process. Sure, a professional digital agency can help you increase your online sales, but if you want to keep the customers for long haul you must study how emotions can help to pump up your online sales. Fret not! We are not just an awesome digital marketing company; we are in the business of educating our visitors to grow, to lead, and to succeed in this world. Therefore, we have gathered some insanely wonderful data on how to increase online sales without spending a fortune on your advertising.

Why are Emotions Important?

Dale Carnegie in one of his books said, “When dealing with people, remember you are not dealing with creatures of logic, but with creatures of emotion.” A study done by Antonio Damasio – a neuroscientist concluded that ‘Emotions trump logic.’ Antonio studied people who have damaged areas of their brain that deal with emotions. These people were not able to make even small decisions despite presenting them with various cons and pros of things. emotionally-engaged-customers-for-sales Sheena Iyengar, in her TED talk, "How to make choosing easier," described an experiment in her talk. In a grocery store, two booths were set up. One with 6 varieties of jams and the other with 24 varieties of jams. The people bought 6 times as many jams from the booth with only 6 choices. Why? When there were many choices of jams, the customers felt confused, and instead of buying more, they didn’t bother to buy anything from that stall. If you are new to the business and willing to beat your competition by increasing your online sales, here are 7 emotions that will trigger the right nerves in your customer's body.

How to Increase Online Sales By Using These 7 Emotions

1. Fear

The visitors to your website are looking for a solution. They are worried about a problem, and they fear that they will be left behind if they don’t find a solution to their problem. Instead of creating a false sense of fear, use the power of losing to help them decide. For instance, if you don’t buy the product now, you’ll not get the 30% discount which you’re getting now.

2. Frustration

Everyone in this world is looking for an easy life. Nothing frustrates the customer more than browsing websites with a lot of nonsense content and no solution to their problem. The solution is to talk to your customers. When you see people browsing your website for a long time, ask them what they are looking for. Ask them what their day-to-day problems are and how you can assist them. The more you talk with your customers, the better solutions you can provide them.

3. Hope

Beauty brands leverage this a lot. Do you want to look younger? Are you looking for something that will make you prettier? Yes. They are selling hope to you. Ask your visitors what their goals, ambitions, and aspirations in life are. What are their biggest pain points? Use their pain points to pierce the veil and increase your online sales.

4. Excitement

The element of surprise is a well-versed phenomenon to engage your audience. Instead of boring your audience with cliché messages, try something unique to gain their attention. In a world of distractions, be the voice instead of the noise. Introduce trial versions of your product or give them sample products. Let them feel the pleasure, the excitement of getting the full version of the product. Understand what makes your prospects tick and move mountains to deliver that to your customers.

5. Anger

Sometimes, when customers get past the frustrating emotion, they fall into the emotion of anger. A quick decision must be made because when a customer has a war inside their mind, you can become a hero in their story. Understand and acknowledge the position that your customers are facing. Figure out why they are angry in the first place. Channel the emotion of anger by presenting them with an easy solution to their problem.

6. Fear of missing out

This is a subset of the emotion of fear. It’s not always individual fear that drives the buying decision. Sometimes it is the fear of not living a better life, just like others. You can use case studies to show customers what they are missing. Companies use this all the time. Use research from third parties to find the pain points of your customers and take the customer on the journey of a better life.

7. The desire to be first

One of the most popular emotions to boost online sales is the desire to be first. The first one to try the product. And the first one to watch the video. The first to tell your friends about the next cool product. Appeal to the customers in a way that highlights the uniqueness of your business. What makes your business different from others, and how will customers feel special when they use your product?

Over to You

“Kodak sells the film, but they don't advertise film; they advertise memories.” ~Theodore Levitt  If you’re successful in listing all your product benefits on your website, people might feel wowed. But if you’re willing to increase your online sales, start impacting emotions!

branex-logo Team Branex
Probably not. Now, you’ll remember the brand for the rest of your life for two reasons. First, the name itself is quite “fascinating”. Second, the product is selling like hotcakes on Amazon Marketplace. We are talking $8,000 in sales per day and growing. For people with a great mind, there is learning in everything. Despite being small and extravagant, this brand from Australia shattered the belief that success is only for gargantuan brands. Now, that they have done it, this gives a ray of hope to the brands operating outside the U.S. With the right strategy, they can succeed too.

How Do the Big Brands Work?

For starters, Amazon Marketplace is like an eBay of the modern age. If you have a second-to-none product, you can make a plethora of money out of it. Thousands and thousands of brands are already shipping their products, interacting with potential customers, and filling their pockets to the brim by selling products on Amazon. When you’re an Entrepreneur, there are a lot of hats that you wear every day. Why not let off some steam and delegate? Check out the Fulfillment by Amazon service; an initiative by Amazon that can help startups ship their products directly from the Amazon storage facility. But since life is not like eating peaches and mangoes, you cannot dominate the internet just by uploading the products on Amazon and walking off lighter. You need to get to grips with Amazon algorithms and thousands of data points that rank products on Amazon. Showing customers the relevant product is the key. Akin to SEO, if you follow the right approach, you can survive getting swallowed by huge brands and establish a position for your brand, even if you are a small brand.

And invest your energy in improving your product. shoes-amazon-marketplace If you have a splendiferous product, you need to wrap it in delicate packaging and go where people are searching for it. 2. An Offer That They Cannot Deny

Another approach you can take is to extend the warranty or offer a free e-book related to something beneficial for the client.

3. On-Page Product Optimization

Akin to when you launch an e-commerce website, you optimize your listings to create a big impact; you can do the same for a product listed on Amazon. Start by optimizing the product titles, images, bullet points, product descriptions, and even the category in which the product is listed. Once you are done with product optimization, you can use Amazon Marketplace stats to improve each aspect of your product listings.

4. Work Hard on Getting Positive Reviews

On the Amazon marketplace, product reviews act as a lifeline. Just like Google, Amazon takes pride in giving customers a supreme shopping experience, thus favoring products with a pile of positive reviews. To win the hearts of your customers, ensure that the quality of the products is top-notch. After you’re sure that the product is of superior quality, you can set up an automatic, positive review system.

This will not just improve your overall product ranking, it will also maximize your conversion rate. During all of this, if you get a negative review, it’s worth connecting with the customers, resolving their issues, and requesting them to edit the review later.

5. Product Listings is the Real Deal

For a new Entrepreneur, it is okay to play safe. This boils down to the fact that it’s important to bring all the traffic to the website. But in the Amazon marketplace, if your product is performing well, Amazon will give you more leverage by improving the product ranking. This can be achieved by advertising the product listings and gaining more attention to your products. The best option is to first utilize the built-in advertising mechanism offered by Amazon, which includes sponsored product ads and dynamic display ads. If you already have experience with digital marketing, you can go with AdWords, Facebook Ads, or email marketing to grab those potential customers.

6. Utilize Amazon Features Wisely

The only purpose of Amazon is to give customers the best service possible. Therefore, Amazon keeps launching products like Fulfilment by Amazon, mentioned earlier. "If you make customers unhappy in the physical world, they might each tell six friends. If you make customers unhappy on the Internet, they can each tell 6,000." Amazon is super-conscious about its customers. In light of this, Amazon has invested tons of money in building solutions for its customers. You need to capitalize on these features and implement them as soon as they arrive.

7. Expand Your Product Range

Once some of your products start getting attention from users, it’s time to expand your product range and experiment with other products. With the Amazon marketplace, this is effortless, as Amazon provides cross-selling and personalized product recommendations. One momentous thing that you need to consider is giving time and resources to your email list. Build a list and think up ways of giving them diverse options with different combinations. If you apply these strategies in the Amazon marketplace, soon you’ll be able to outdo big brands. With an ounce of creativity and innovation, use your digital marketing channels wisely and witness the success of your brand.

branex-logo Team Branex
I don’t know if humans have indeed cultivated the fabled attention span of a goldfish. In fact, I don’t really care if it’s a myth or not. But what I do know is that in this 24/7-driven world out there, people expect to get information on demand really fast. And in an era where brands are beginning to realize the power of customer-centric products, it’s necessary to understand the intent of customers. In addition to hiring high-profile sales representatives or brand influencers who can bring traffic to your website, let us all bow down to Chatbots. Yes, Chatbots are here to answer the call for this demand. Brands are harnessing the power of Chatbots to provide customers with ease and at the same time, save tons of money for hiring customer service reps. Chatbot Avatar Chatbots are helping customers find information fast. They can educate a customer regarding a product or a service, assist the customer while making the purchase, and, for the cherry on top, Chatbots are improving conversion rates massively. If you don’t have a clue what I am talking about, let's look at some of the ways you can drive traffic to your website with the help of Chatbots.

Focus on Customer’s Questions

The primary difference between a brick-and-mortar store and an ecommerce store is that in the former, customers solicit the help of a salesperson when they don’t find a product on the shelve. While in an ecommerce store, this responsibility falls on a customer service rep or in the modern age, a Chatbot. In a physical store, a customer asks a question, and they are directed to the desired section where they can buy the product. But with a Chatbot, a whole new set of possibilities unfolds. With every question from the customer, you can modify the script of the Chatbot and boost your sales. Just like when you find a salesperson and they suggest some additional products, a Chatbot can read the intent of the customer and offer valuable suggestions to them. Whenever customers ask a question, use this information to iterate the Chatbot for better communication with the customers. Use the phrases and words that were used by the customers in their questions to help them find quick answers to their queries.

Add a flavor of Advice to your Answers

No one minds good advice. Most website owners assume that since Chatbots are robots, no one will listen to them. But the good news is that Chatbots of today are smart. When customers visit your website to buy a product, they already know what they’re looking for. The Chatbot just needs to fill them up with some answers. Just like a great salesman doesn’t just sell the product that customers want, they refer some add-ons or updated versions of the product, the Chatbot can be programmed similarly. When people don’t mind getting advice from sales professionals. Why won’t they welcome advice from a Chatbot if it is doing them well?

Eliminate the Obstacles from A Buyer’s Cycle

At times, the questions that customers ask are a result of some problem that they’re facing while purchasing the product. It’s an obstacle that is hindering the sales process. By giving customer precise answers pertaining to their problems, you’ll better be able to alleviate shopping cart abandonment. For instance, a customer might ask, ‘Do you ship overseas?’, or ‘Do you offer a complete refund?’ These are ordinary questions which can help customers make the final decision to buy the product.

Stimulate the Customer with Multiple Answers

We all prefer to buy from the experts. Leverage the power of Chatbots to portray yourself as an expert. Caught up in the throes of a problem, we all consider taking advice from an expert. An expert not only helps up discover solutions, but they also present us with many options to help us choose the right products for ourselves. This form of questioning cultivates trust among the customer and makes the customer listen to the expert without worrying about the quality of the product. For instance, if a customer asks a Chatbot, “Do you have engagement rings?" or “From where can I buy an engagement ring?”, you can take this information and feed it to the Chatbot to answer in a variety of ways. For instance, the chatbot may prompt,
  • “What shape and cut are you looking for in an engagement ring?”
  • “How many carats are you looking for?”, or perhaps pry a little deeper into your pocket and say,
  • “How much are you willing to spend on the engagement ring? or speak your mind and utter,
  • “Are you willing to go for a discounted engagement ring?"
These questions will not only open new opportunities for the brand, but they can also help the customer make an informed purchase since most people are more prone to respond to the queries of a chatbot, without dubbing them as nosy. Additionally, it will drive more traffic on your website.

Stick to Short & Professional Answers

No one likes being lectured upon. Some Chatbots can really rub you the wrong way in this regard. This will do the exact opposite of driving traffic to your website, it will increase the bounce rate of your customers. Excessive information might be okay with your blog or on your website, but when talking to a Chatbot, the customers want to solve their problems fast. They cannot wait for long-haul conversations. So, to drive traffic on your website, be short, professional, and helpful with your answers.

When you take some time out to read the conversations between your customers and the Chatbot, you’ll be able to devise a plan of action for it.

Look for Feedback in their Words

Feedback is the fuel that powers the brand. If there is no feedback, how will the company know what is working right and what isn’t? The Chatbot will be able to provide you with a lot of information on the words that customers are using in their conversation. A customer doesn’t need to be generous with their praises; sometimes, you have to read between the lines to learn what you wanted to hear. Get those statements and analyze them to improve customer interactions with the Chatbots. For example, try to read the conversations that end abruptly. Why did the customer leave without giving any review? Use this information to feed better data to your Chatbot.

The Next Step

Websites are using Chatbots to improve their retention and drive traffic to their websites. You can take the information that the customer is giving and use it to your advantage. If you are unable to find a genius app developer who can build a Chatbot for you,

branex-logo Team Branex
What do Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Google have in common? All these ideas are insane, right? Wrong. So, these are simple ideas that evolved with time and created history. The amazing thing about these startups is that the founder found a problem and provided a solution in the simplest way. You might be thinking that it’s not easy to come up with exceptional ideas. Good ideas take time and a lot of brainstorming. Well, it’s not that hard to come up with a praise-worthy business idea. How to get startup ideas that will create a bend in the universe? I am a serial Entrepreneur and let me give one advice to all the young Entrepreneurs out there. The most insane ideas come from the most unimaginable sources. What you, as an Entrepreneur, need to do is work on those ideas to make them stick.

5 Sources To Get Startup Ideas:

Here are 5 sources to get startup ideas without selling your home:

1. Solve a Problem

This is by far the most popular way to create and run a business. I started my first venture by solving my own problem. I was out there in the USA, and I wanted to send gifts to my family at home. What did I do? I created a business out of it.  Where can you find problems? Look around you. There are a lot of people out there who are facing one common problem. Talk to people about their problems in your community. Pick a target market and solve that problem.

2. Find Someone with Your Passion and Start a Company

Amazon started like this. Google was founded because two students felt the need to organize data in one place. And look how that turned out to be. You can do the same. Go to conferences. Attend seminars. Talk to people about their interests. You can either start something that you’re passionate about or improve your idea to start a business out of it. Find Passion and Idea for Your Company

3. If You Have a Skill or a Passion, Start a Business out of it

Spend an hour every day jotting down what you’re passionate about. Next, figure out how you can earn from that skill. If you are good at website designing, you can start a website design agency to help people turn their ideas into dreams. If you write well, you can start writing content for people. Just like ProBlogger did while he was doing a full-time job. Darren Rowse not only started a company, he made a six-digit income out of it.

4. Work in the industry & figure out a need in that

My friend worked in a digital agency for around 5 years. He figured out that apart from digital services, they were missing content writing services, which customers often inquire about. And he sat down with one friend one day, and the next day his basement was his new business. He worked his way up & still running a successful digital design agency doing wonders for others. And oh yeah. He is making more than a six-digit income right now.

5. Research an existing idea and improve on it

If you spend enough time in the market, you’ll eventually be able to find some ideas that you can improve. Google something you’re passionate about. Find the top 3 businesses in that niche. Now, spend a week figuring out how you can improve those ideas. For instance, you can start something like Uber, with the addition of Wifi and ride-sharing. Or you can start a gift delivery service with customer service that sends video testimonials to the receiver. Research for existing ideas There are billions of ideas out there. But the best ones are those whom you can pick and make something out of it. You can keep a diary with you all the time. Note down ideas. No matter how insane your idea might seem, just start with it and improve on the ideas later. Be a “wantrepreneur”. Take risks. Be bold. Talk to people. Connect with nature. Miraculously, nature can give you ideas that alone can help you win big in life. The only thing you need to make sure is that those ideas add value to the lives of people. Don’t just start anything because you believe it will work. Do some idea validation. How much is your idea worth? How many people have the same problem as you? Once you figure out the ‘why’ of anything. You’ll be able to find the business idea that will kick-start your career, your life, and your business.
Steps To Create Unique Selling Proposition

6 Steps To Create A Unique Selling Proposition That Works

branex-logo Team Branex
You can create a powerful unique selling proposition that resonates with your target audience and drives business success. When I started my first business, I was super excited. It was a blessing to stay awake and work on something bigger than myself. For 6 months, life was wonderful. Stressful. But perfect. I was doing what I loved. Sales were on a growth curve. But things eventually started going south. Reason? We will get back to that later. Everything was on track. A brilliant team. Excellent website. An addictive app and an upbeat social media team. It took me some time to realize what I was doing wrong. Since my brand was new, customers were happy to try it. But then more brands realized what I was doing, jumped on the bandwagon, and my sales went down the dumps. A business without sales is nothing. The only thing that drives customers to buy from you is your Unique Selling Proposition, which is your company’s DNA, it’s being for existing. By having a clear USP, your branding and marketing are stronger because you have an unobstructed vision of the message you are aiming to deliver. This is what I lacked at that time, but on my second venture, I worked on my unique selling proposition and highlighted my strong points. These days, creating a unique selling proposition is necessary to attract the right customers & turn away the wrong ones. If you have a firm grip on how your ideal customer thinks, it will be easier for you to create a killer USP. If you don’t know where to start, keep reading and you’ll find out.

Steps to Creating a Promising Unique Selling Proposition

Your USP needs to be as promising as the headline that sells your product/service. Since you are willing to maximize your results, you need to follow these simple steps to highlight the core benefits of your product.

Step 1: Start with the Benefits

Take out a piece of paper and write the first three benefits that your brand offers. Let me be straight here. Your client doesn’t care if you offer the best price or high quality, if you’re not telling WHY your product is different from your competition, nothing will matter. “The milk chocolate melts in your mouth, not in your hand.”  The fact that the M&M candy shell prevents the chocolate core from oozing out and creating a mess is a definite plus for customers, and M&M made sure to make it their unique selling point. Think in terms of the end result. What is the one benefit that your customer will get by using your product? Now move towards the next step.

Step 2: Be Unique

The key is to be unique. A unique USP will set the buying criteria for your customers which will identify the logical choice for your customers. Figure out how your unique selling proposition is creating an urgency and desire. Your product should offer something valuable. Consider the following example:
  • Product: “A unique baseball bat which will make you swing like a pro”
  • Unique offering: “A simple technique which can help you learn to swing like a pro in 10 minutes.”
  • Guarantee: “Either you’ll swing like a pro or we will return your money.”

Step 3: Solve a Pain Point

For instance, Domino Pizza started with a “Pizza delivered in 30 minutes or for free.” the USP became widely successful. The performance gap between the current and desired state should improve. When Mom and Dad come home after a long day they are unable to cook, but the kids are starving and now they want Pizza. Just call Dominos! “Everything you need in the bathroom—from razor blades to grooming products—automatically delivered to your door. It doesn’t get any simpler than that.” By offering a subscription-based service that delivers personal grooming products to customers by mail, the Dollar Shave Club eliminates the hassle of running out of a certain product when it is needed the most and having to rush to a store. This is problem-solving at its core. The pain point was “hunger” in the case of Dominoes, and convenience in the latter, and it was acknowledged in the respective USPs.

Step 4: Offer Some Social Proof

Consumers often feel skeptical about the false claims that brands make in their unique selling propositions. Don’t be an airbag and write anything that you’re not offering and then not live up to the expectations. Write ideas on paper and measure them with your company values.

Step 5: Use Your USP across All Marketing Efforts

Use a variation of your unique selling proposition in every marketing collateral that you send to your customer, from advertising copy to business cards, brochures, and flyers. Your elevator pitch and the conversation starter that you do, need to revolve around your USP.

Step 6: Delivering the Promise

That’s the most challenging task. To live up to your USP. You need to ensure that you deliver your USP carefully. Reputation is hard to build and easy to lose. If you don’t work on delivering the value that your USP offered in the first place, it will ruin your reputation and burn you at the stake. For example, in the beginning, FedEx faced the problem of staying true to its USP of overnight delivery. But they established systems which allowed them to make good on their USP.

Conclusion

A powerful unique selling proposition is like an anchor that can save a dying ship. It’s a driving force that will establish the base of your success. Build your USP and leverage it to optimize your marketing materials for maximum results. Take these 6 steps and come up with a memorable, actionable, and unique selling proposition. Not just write it down; live your brand USP.
