Project overview

Shopwin is an innovative digital lottery and shopping platform that turns everyday online shopping into an exciting, reward-filled experience.

Shopwin’s unique selling point lies in its innovative model of offering products and services through vouchers, each bundled with a complimentary coupon that grants customers a free entry into exciting lottery draws. Customers buy products, receive lucky draw entries, earn loyalty points, and enjoy a gamified shopping journey, all in one platform.

Branex partnered with Shopwin to design and develop a responsive hybrid mobile app and website, integrating seamless e-commerce functionality with a lottery system, loyalty programs, and referral rewards.

Problem Statement

While the e-commerce sector in the UAE was booming, most platforms focused solely on price and product variety. Shopwin identified a gap: no major player was offering a gamified reward system that could boost customer retention and engagement.

The challenges included:

  • Integrating a secure and transparent lottery system with e-commerce transactions.
  • Creating a unified shopping and reward experience without complicating the buying process.
  • Designing a platform that would be responsive, fast, and user-friendly across all devices.
  • Managing loyalty points, referral bonuses, and campaign rules dynamically from an admin panel.

Design Thinking Approach

We followed a human-centered, iterative approach to ensure both the business vision and user needs were met:

Empathize

Conducted interviews with potential users to understand shopping habits, lottery appeal, and expectations from a rewards program.

Ideate

Brainstormed gamification models, loyalty mechanisms, and UI flows to keep the experience intuitive.

Test

Gathered feedback on prototypes from real users, refining navigation, checkout flow, and lottery entry confirmation screens.

Define

Framed the core problem: “How can we merge e-commerce convenience with the excitement of lotteries, ensuring transparency, engagement, and ease-of-use?”

Prototype

Created interactive wireframes showcasing product browsing, coupon generation, lucky draw participation, and account management.

Solutions We Offered

The Shopwin platform was developed with a strong focus on performance, scalability, and user engagement. The hybrid mobile application was built using Flutter, ensuring seamless cross-platform functionality for both iOS and Android with native-like speed. The dynamic e-commerce platform was powered by React.js on the front-end and Node.js/PHP/.Net on the back-end, providing a robust and scalable architecture.

An advanced lottery campaign management system was implemented, allowing administrators to create, manage, and track ongoing lottery draws, winners, and coupon distribution. To enhance customer retention, a configurable loyalty and referral system was integrated, enabling real-time adjustments of reward rules by the admin.

The platform’s responsive design ensures an optimized and consistent user experience across smartphones, tablets, and desktops. For secure transactions, multiple payment gateways were integrated with encryption and detailed transaction tracking. Additionally, a winner announcement feature was included, publicly displaying draw results to promote transparency and build excitement among users.

What We Achieved

By developing the Shopwin app and website, Branex successfully delivered a seamless integration of a full-featured e-commerce platform with a gamified lottery system, creating a unique and engaging user experience. The solution significantly boosted user engagement by 40% during early adoption, as customers were motivated to interact more frequently thanks to the excitement of lucky draws and rewards. The loyalty points and referral incentive programs further improved customer retention, encouraging repeat purchases and organic user growth.

Leveraging a single hybrid codebase built with Flutter, the platform achieved cross-platform reach, ensuring consistent performance and usability across both Android and iOS devices. This innovative approach set Shopwin apart in a highly competitive e-commerce market, offering a distinctive reward-driven shopping proposition. Additionally, the platform’s scalable architecture was designed to support future growth, enabling seamless expansion in terms of product offerings, user base, and promotional campaigns without compromising performance or user experience.
